With Valentines Day this week, Sharon delves a little into “Spells of Love” with some really gorgeous ways of creating romance & harmony in our lives.
We all have that little belief about the power of magic, and throughout the ages, in all cultures, all around our planet (& Universe), humans have been formulating spells, potions & intentions to bring good fortune, better crops & harvesting, restoring health, and most commonly to bring love into our day to day life. These harmless spells Sharon hopes will encourage you, or your partner, or someone you wish to become your partner, to have a stronger, more lovingly attitude to us. Remember that magical spells, charms, powders, & oils will be most effective if they are created on a Friday, as this is the sacred day of the planet Venus – the astrological patron of love…Here are three little spells that may spark a little more love into your life…
This first one is from the Santeria Love Spells
In the South American countries of Cuba & Puerto Rico santeria (MAGIC), love spells are made from flowers & herbs, with many invoking the ritual of bathing. The baths have small amounts of herbs & petals infused into them, as love baths are used to imbue the user with the energies of attraction, and it is believed that this ritual can result in meeting a new love. The goddess, Oshun who is the patron of love spells, when she is properly invited with a request for a love spell is said to grant her devotees passionate adventures…So, this is one spell for the Cuban Love Bath… gather the following:
A large yellow candle
Some cinnamon (stick is better)
Honey (preferably native)
Perfume (or I like an essential oil)
a pinch of sugar
and a few pinches of dried Valerian root
Start by adding the cinnamon, honey, essential oil or a perfume, sugar & the Valerian to a saucepan, add 4 cups of water (Sharon suggests to add more water!). Bring to the boil and simmer for 25 minutes, then set aside to cool. Once cooled, decant the strained mixture into a clean glass bottle or jar with a lid, add 5 coins of small denomination. To use: Draw a warm bath on a Friday evening (this year it is Valentines Day on a Friday), and set the candle beside it, add one cupful of the infusion to the bath water. While you bathe, visualise your Aura as golden light surrounding you, visualise that you are the centre of attention at a gathering of either handsome men, or beautiful women. To finish, blow out the candle & leave it where it is, repeat the ritual for the next three nights until the mixture is used. Lastly, wrap the candle in a piece of paper (once re-set and cool), and place it in a safe place until you wish to use it again….how delightfully simple…
This next spell, Sharon believes we all would enjoy, even the youngest children & infants but also the elderly, it’s the Love Sprinkling Powder…
This Love Powder can be lovingly sprinkled on a loved one’s belongings, or in your own underwear drawer to forge an energetic love bond between you & your partner. This recipe is from the Caribbean and includes herbs & oils, we use:
a handful of your favourite powder (cornflour, arrowroot, tapioca, kaolin clay or bentonite clay are all great & generally safe for all ages)
5 drops of Rose Oil
5 drops of Sandalwood Oil
7 drops of Lavender Oil
1 teaspoon of powdered Cardamom Seed
1 teaspoon of powdered Allspice
1 teaspoon of crushed & dried Lavender
1 teaspoon of crushed & dried Rose Petals
So, the idea is to mix all the ingredients in a glass bowl with a fork or small whisk. As you mix, again use the power of your mind & visualise that a warm pink light is growing & radiating from the powder. Gently pour the powder into a little jar (use a funnel) and sprinkle it on the belongings of the person you love, and be sure to sprinkle some on you after your evening bathing or showering…another way of using this powder is as an offering to Mother Earth, have a small amount in the palm of your hand whilst standing in a nice sunny place in nature, or in your own garden, then blow a little in each of the 4 cardinal points of North, East, South & West, with the intention of willing your beloved to feel this energetic pull to return soon…
These are the sweetest little spells…the 3rd one is Sharon’s favourite (yes, crystals are involved…), it’s a Bewitchment to Revive your Lovelife…
You will need to take some of your lover’s hair from their brush or comb
A piece of cloth, preferrably red cotton or red flannel
A sewing needle and red thread
Plus, a piece of green adventurine, rose quartz & citrine
With this spell, you will also need a small amount of your own hair & join it with your partners lock with a knot in the middle, place the lock & crystals in the centre of the fabric and fold the cloth by joining all the corners to make a pouch, stitch it together to secure. Hold the bag in your hands and blow into it three times. Dot the bag with a fragrant oil and visualise it enveloped in loving pink light. Place the charm underneath your bed, every now and then re-dot the bag with your chosen fragrance.
